Next Round of Funding Opens Today for the Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund

These main grants are for £250 to £7,000 and can be applied for by constituted groups. Decisions on the main grants are made by the Steering Group which is made up from members of the five community council areas bordering the wind farm: Avich & Kilchrenan, Taynuilt, Glenorchy & Innishail, Kilinver & Kilmelford and Kilmore.

The Steering Group meets twice a year to decide which of the main grants will be funded.  They will meet in March 2019 to decide the current round of applications. If you would like to apply for funding in this current round, more information is available on the Carraig Gheal website. For an application form contact Jennie Cowley at jennifer@greenpowerinternational.com. Should you have any queries or require any guidance on the application process please contact Jennie who will be more than happy to help you.

In the last round of funding which closed on 31st July nine grants totalling over £38,000 were approved by the Steering Group. These included the installation of a fire escape for the recently renovated Bridge of Orchy Hall, the purchase and construction of a polytunnel for the newly formed Avant Gardeners based in Avich and Kilchrenan and new windows, door and cladding for Kilmore Village Hall.
