Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Awards Grants to Six Local Projects in Latest Funding Round

The Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund Steering Group met again at the end of March and awarded funding totalling over £34,000:

These projects are all within the five community council areas surrounding Carraig Gheal Wind Farm; Avich & Kilchrenan, Taynuilt, Glenorchy & Innishail, Kilinver & Kilmelford and Kilmore.

The fund has awarded over £350,000, supporting 69 local community projects with total costs of over £730,000.

The next round of funding for main grants opens on 1st May 2022 and is for £501 up to £7,000; village halls may apply for up to £20,000. Information can also be provided on the micro grant scheme which is available all year round for up to £500 for projects within the above five community council areas.

The Steering Group and GreenPower also welcomed new member Gill Philpotts into the Group who is the new Kilninver and Kilmelford Community Council representative. Gill takes over from David Wilkie who was the previous representative and the Group and GreenPower thanked David for his long-term hard work and contributions since joining the Group in 2015 and wishes him all the best for the future.
