GreenPower’s Jennie Cowley and Nick Forrest attended the Funding Connections event in Oban on Tuesday, hosted and organised by Argyll and Bute Council to bring together funders with community groups and organisations so they can meet and explore available funding options.

Jennie and Nick were representing the Carraig Gheal Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, which provides micro grants for up to £500 and main grants for up to £10,000 for projects within the five community council areas surrounding the Carraig Gheal Wind Farm.

The event provided a unique opportunity to meet with a variety of organisations face to face and discuss projects that the Fund may be able to support.

Jennie Cowley, who helps administer the Fund, said, ‘It was wonderful to meet local organisations that provide such vital services in the area, many of which are run by volunteers, to see if there are projects that the Fund could help support’.

The fund is generated from Carraig Gheal Wind Farm which GreenPower owns and operates. The main grant funding window is open currently with a closing date of 31st July; micro grants can be applied for at any time.
